Slowly but surely I'm becoming a New Englander. It's a slow process (even though collectively I've spent a couple of decades living in New England). There are a lot of subtleties. Each location has its uniqueness. Today I learned that the floating shacks in Duxbury Harbor are used by oystermen. The main clue was one floating shack that actually had an oyster trap laying on its deck. Okay, I'll be honest, I had to Google it! There is something kind of comical about looking at all of the fairly new floating shacks that have solar panels on their roofs, garage doors, and wooden carved nameplates if you don't know what you're looking at. Now that I know what they are, all I can't think of is eating freshly harvested Duxbury oysters on the half shell!
